In cooperation with the European Dance Federation (the official representative of Europe in the WDC), the WDC
Amateur League is preparing a ranking-system for the amateurs in ballroom and latin.
The point-system will work according to the system used for professionals.
There will be a World Ranking, a Continental Ranking and a National Ranking.
All competitions in the ranking fall under the rules of the WDC AL.
Specifically the rules for WDC-registered judges and being open for all competitors must be observed.
Included in the ranking are only those couples of which both partners are registered in the WDC AL.
The World Ranking includes all current granted titles and new titles.
The Continental Ranking includes extra titles per continent.
The National Ranking includes the competitions of your choice in your country if you are a member.
Member organisations.
Only the one member (appointed by the WDC AL) in a country can be the national member and is entitled to run the WDC AL National Championships.
This so appointed member is fully responsible for the National ranking.
All other member-organisations in the country have the right to register their competitions individually.
All these competitions must appear in the calendar of the WDC Amateur League.
As well as the results per competition afterwards.
The monies coming in from the registration in the WDC AL Calendar will all be invoiced by the WDC.
The WDC and WDC AL will assign prizemonies for the World and Continental series from these monies.
The monies coming in from the National ranking will all be invoiced by the National member.
The National member will assign prizemonies for the National ranking from these monies.
The respective prizemonies will be allocated per couple
– for the World Series at the World Championship (as last competition),
– for the Continental Series at the Continental Championship (as last competition) and
– for the National Series at the National Championship (as last competition).
We are convinced that with your full cooperation the ranking-systems will create a considerable purse for the competitors and will surely increase their participation in WDC AL events. Both national and international.
Top Turnier Scrutineering option.
To make this operational it is advisable to use Top Turnier as your scrutineering-system.
This system allows direct upload of the results and update of the respective rankings.
It is possible to obtain the system through WDC AL per country / member and use for all your national competitions.
The hardware must be bought. The software can be installed and used under the license of the WDC AL.
The training for and use of scrutineers (“power-users”) is essential.
Training will be done by WDC AL. Dates and location to be published.
